‘Cold store in a day’ keeps Spanish food specialist growing

When Spanish food specialist, La Gaditana, needed a reasonably-sized chiller at its Farnborough site to accommodate eight pallets immediately as well as having the flexibility to grow, we provided a ‘cold store in a day’, enabling the company to trade up seamlessly at one of the busiest times of year.

We supplied a Viessmann room with Zanotti-packaged refrigeration equipment to the warehouse, which distributes food products throughout the UK. The modular unit also houses two specialised ceiling mount refrigeration systems and has low level pallet protection.

Malcolm Paramore, Director at La Gaditana, explains: “We import a number of Spanish items into the UK for distribution to our retail outlets, including wine and sherry, and some items such as cheeses and meats which need to be temperature controlled at our centralised location before distribution.

“We needed a reasonably-sized chiller at our Farnborough site to easily accommodate eight pallets, and have the flexibility to grow with the modular unit from Cold Store Rentals over the next three-to-four years.

“The installation team were fantastic and completed the project in a day as promised, which meant that the unit was down to the correct temperature by the following morning and we took our first order from it only three days after it was up and running.

“Location is important to us and we like to work with local businesses, so with Cold Store Rentals’ head office being so near to us, we are comfortable that we can speak with someone who understands the area and can support us if we need any assistance.”

Steve Prior, Director at Cold Store Rentals, explains: “We positioned the cold room on an existing internal base inside the warehouse area to minimise any downtime in the installation process, and commissioned the unit fully.”

We also offer 24/7 maintenance with our nationwide team of dedicated engineers.
